Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

EMLPlatform is a comprehensive resource for connecting Emergency Management Organizations (EMOs), businesses, and community organizations to enhance preparedness and response efforts. It provides tools for managing resources, showcasing services, and building networks.

Local communities.  When emergency management organizations, businesses, and community organizations work better together, everyone wins. Finding products, services, and supports quickly and efficiently means better response times and increased opportunities to mitigate damages and loss.

When local emergency management organizations build relationships with local suppliers and service providers they build trust and confidence critical to future response and recovery efforts. Local businesses and community organizations want to help when their community needs them most. Having strong connections can result in faster mobilization and greater coordination.

Businesses can use the EMLPlatform to promote their products and services. The EMLPlatform also helps local businesses to connect with EMOs to become approved vendors. A profile on the EMLPlatform does not guarantee that businesses will be used in a disaster situation, but it certainly improves the opportunity to be found and connected into their local emergency management plan. Local procurement procedures are generally applicable in disaster situations – best to check it out in advance.

Community organizations generally have access to amenities, facilities, people, knowledge, and expertise needed to support people and communities impacted by disaster situations. The EMLPlatform is an easy and affordable place to build and maintain contact information and to describe the supports available when needed.

The promo code has been set to work with municipal/First Nations and Metis EMO profiles, local business ($49) profiles, and community organization ($49) profiles.  When you arrive at the “Create Your Listing” page and add apply the coupon code (CRCAB), your fees will be automatically reduced to $0.00.  This promo code is designated for Alberta use only.  Efforts are underway to work with other provinces/territories to expand the EMLPlatform nationwide.

EMLCanada is a small business with a social purpose. Our standard rates are low – intentionally.  Emergency Management Organization profiles can range from $349/year for regional partners to $799/year for Industry.  Businesses can choose from a free option (included with local EMO plans) to serve their local community or access one of the paid options that expands searchability and access to Marketplace tools and resources.
